Our Purpose

Why a group, and not just a campaign?

Save Our Seas started in 2022 with a simple idea: cut single-use plastic from schools and homes before it ever reaches our seas. That idea was never meant to belong to one campaign, so in 2025 we set up the group to hold it.

The Save Our Seas Group exists so other organisations — campaigns, community groups, charities and small businesses — can work towards the same mission without starting from scratch. Shared resources, shared voice, and a bit less doing it alone.

Members keep their own name, their own branding and their own independence. The group isn't a merger and it isn't a franchise — nobody gets rebranded on the way in.

Membership

What being part of the group means

Three things every member gets — while keeping their own name and running things their own way.

A Shared Mission

Every member works towards the same goal: cutting single-use plastic at the source. How you get there is entirely yours.

  • Working aloneworking to one goal
  • Losing your identitykeeping your own name

Shared Resources

Swap guides, campaign templates and awareness materials, ready to use — so nobody rebuilds what already works.

  • Starting from scratchready-made kits
  • Guessworkwhat's already worked

A Shared Voice

A small campaign is easy to overlook. A group of them, saying the same thing, is much harder to ignore.

  • One small voicemany, together
  • Local reachnational reach

What we'll be looking for

  • Work that reaches homes, communities or classrooms
  • Happy to share what works with the rest of the group
